Robert Schamber, CHA
Senior Vice president, Hotel Operations
As Sr. Vice President of Hotel Operations, Robert Schamber oversees the functioning of all Inner Circle properties in multiple cities. His responsibilities include: Operations, Revenue Management, Central Reservations, Central Purchasing, and Global Service Contracts.
Mr. Schamber is formerly Vice President of Operations for Ocean Waters Hotels in Daytona Beach, where he also managed security/risk and Human Resources and was a member of the Executive Team. While at Ocean Waters, Robert spearheaded a reorganization of management to create key efficiency savings, through an economy of scale, throughout the company and also instituted global buying and servicing agreements to help streamline costs. Robert assembled a revenue management team who, through their aggressive, creative, and innovative efforts, dramatically increased bookings in all segments as well as internet market share.
Mr. Schamber’s professional background began at Howard Johnson Motor Lodge in Rochester, New York while he was earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Tourist Industries Management at the Rochester Institute of Technology. As part of a college cooperative program, he was a Management Intern at the Polynesian Village Resort Hotel and the Contemporary Resort Hotel in Walt Disney World.
Mr. Schamber returned to Florida, after graduation, spending much of his career at the Grosvenor Resort in the Walt Disney World Resort, holding positions as Telecommunications Manager, Capital Projects Manager, Controller, and General Manager. In his ten year period as General Manager with Grovsenor, he was responsible for all aspects of the 630 room resort that produced in excess of 20 million dollars in revenue annually. His consistent strategy was to give his guests the greatest price/value of product and services while streamlining costs and bringing the greatest amount of profit to the bottom line. Robert was a pioneer in instituting technology to reduce labor costs and enhance the guest experience.
Robert held board member positions in the Volusia Hotel and Lodging Association, Central Florida Hospitality Accountant Association and the Village Hotel Plaza Association. He also holds the designation of a Certified Hotel Administrator and a Certified Hotel Accounting Executive issued by the American Hotel & Lodging Association and has received the Statler Foundation Award for Hospitality Education.
